Are You Prepared?

As we prepare for the inevitable, the decisive factor in our survival will be the decisions we make months or even years before disaster. More important than the weapons we arm ourselves with, is the knowledge we are armed with going into the zombie apocalypse. Basic survival provisions must be kept. Paramount among these is water. Several gallons per person should be secured in the event of a protracted survival situation. Secondly, an abundant and well balanced stockpile of non-perishable foods must be maintained.
Keep in mind that under current conditions, most people have less than a week's supply of food and water on hand (including what you find in stores) should society immediately collapse. Above all things, you do not want to find yourself competing against the unprepared masses in a worst case scenario.

Take serious considerations into your household's survival requirements and stockpile dedicated emergency food and water reserves in an out of the way corner of your domicile. In preparing in this manner, you will have the luxury of preparing your stockpile item by item, rather than bearing the burden of attempting to prepare for your survival when it is too late.

The 11th Hour?

During the Cold War there was the Doomsday Clock. This so-called clock was used by Atomic Scientists to show society how close we were to Nuclear Armageddon.

However, if there were a "Z-Day Clock," what time would it show? And more importantly, what kind of events would have to transpire to make the Z-Day Clock strike midnight? New Orleans in 2005, Los Angeles in 1992. These events, and others like them, offer us a frightening glimpse of what could happen if an outbreak escalated to pandemic proportions. What is even more frightening is that the government and media's response and denial machine will leave most people unprepared should the worst happen. In this event, the unintended consequence is that the outbreak may spread from city to city, and town to town until the situation becomes uncontrollable. In that case, I fear that all will have already been lost.
